Latham Centers, established in 1970, is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation. It is our mission to compassionately and creatively help children and adults with complex special needs, including Prader-Willi Syndrome, lead meaningful, abundant lives.
Our children’s program is Latham School, a beautiful residential campus located on Cape Cod in Brewster, Massachusetts. In June of 2013, Latham School was approved to admit non-immigrant (F1) students through The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Latham School offers day and residential school services to boys and girls ages 8 – 22 years old. Our community homes in our adult programs are located throughout Cape Cod, with our most recent addition in nearby south eastern Massachusetts. We offer a menu of supports that include independent living, shared living and traditional group homes.
We serve children challenged with developmental delays, mild to moderate MR, learning disorders, emotional immaturity with dysregulation under stress, behavior challenges, attachment issues, emerging mental illness, a history of early trauma, as well as exposure to violence and psychiatric hospitalizations. Latham Centers is renowned and respected for our residential treatment programs serving students and adults with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) – a genetic disorder with no known cure. Based on our reputation and expertise in treating some of the most challenging PWS cases, we receive inquiries and referrals from across the globe. Our school program and our adult program provide 24-hour supervision and expert care for our remarkable PWS population as they explore educational, vocational, volunteer and social activities as engaged members in their respective communities. We are licensed and accredited by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Department of Early Education and Care and the Department of Developmental Services as well as the Council on Accreditation.
Our progressive approach to residential treatment focuses on individualized treatment that supports our students, adults and their families. Our energetic and dedicated staff works intensely with each child or
adult to develop the best approach and services for each individual. In short, Latham “gets it”. And in the process, we literally save and change lives.
